All I've been watching are crime procedurals and reading Agatha Christie. I've been in a very detective-ish mood lately. The Speckled Band A w It's been awhile since I've read any Sherlock Holmes, and I had forgotten how much I love it. I loved every story! The first two were my favorites.

They were all so fabulous! Sherlock is also a lot nicer in these books than I remembered, and definitely friendlier than in the TV adaptations. I plowed right through these short stories.

It's been awhile since I've read any Sherlock Holmes, and I had forgotten how much I love it. IвЂ™m happy to know my library offers several more volumes in this series.more Hearing these stores dramatized in this way was very entertaining, and the perfect companion to my neighborhood walks. Also, I was reminded that I do enjoy Conan DoyleвЂ™s writing style, and his attention to character as well as to details of each mystery. But I forgot many of the details, so there were some surprises along the way. What fun! I had read most of the Holmes short stories from my beat-up paperback years ago. Narrator David Timson was excellent, and the production was enhanced by dramatic violin and piano music between scenes. Instead, there were only 4 stories, chosen seemingly at random: Three from Adventures, and one from The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes. This audiobook does not contain the 12 short stories collected under the title of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes.

I highly recommend them - Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was truly one of the masters of detective stories.more I can't imagine how I've gone this long in my career as a reader without picking up any of these books until now. I will be searching out more Sherlock Holmes adventures, and I hope to add a collection or two (or several) to my library. And yet, whilst in the depths of the story, I was on the edge of my seat, eager to hear the resolution. Holmes explains the methods, it all seems so obvious. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle spins a brilliant mystery, and ties every loose thread together in a manner that simultaneously gives a feeling of intense satisfaction as well as the urge to slap one's forehead, because, when Mr. Thanks to this audio recording I've now been treated to four of them, and find myself itching to read more. To my great chagrin, I have never - until today - read any of the classic detective stories featuring Sherlock Holmes.
